Joe has been honoured by Blackpool Council this morning for ’30 Years By The Seaside’.
A civic reception was held in honour last Saturday in the historic Mayor’s parlour at Blackpool Town Hall. His Worshipful The Mayor Cllr Ian Coleman had personally invited Joe who was thrilled and delighted to accept a few weeks ago.
A number of Joe’s friends from the UK and Blackpool entertainment industry were in attendance, including actors Christopher Ellison from ‘The Bill’, Blue’s Antony Costa, Johnnie Casson, Leye D.Johns, Johnnie Duffy, Joe Wildy, Tony Jo, Robin Duke and many members of Blackpool Council and local authorities.
The Mayor gave a short speech before presenting Joe with a crystal glass commemorative award for his extensive contribution to Blackpool’s tourism and leisure industry over the years.The town has been Joe’s home since 2002 although he has been a frequent visitor since the 70s performing in the resort since his early days as an entertainer.
2017 sees Joe celebrate 30 years of starring in his own Summer Season in Blackpool, breaking many box office records along the way.
