UPDATE PLUS JOE AT VIVA BLACKPOOL NEW YEAR'S EVE
A news update this morning after last Sunday’s Christmas Meet and Greet Afternoon Tea with Joe at The Imperial Hotel Blackpool. Joe was delighted to see everyone there and enjoyed the opportunity to have a few words with you all.
The highlight of the evening ,of course , Joe singing “Wind Beneath My Wings’, an extra special moment and one to cherish for everyone there, this being Joe’s first performance since the recent extensive medical treatment he has undergone in the second half of 2015. A wonderful, powerful and very emotional rendition of this classic Joe song, not a dry eye anywhere in the room, everyone on their feet for Joe as he left the room.
Very special thanks to Rose Marie, Alan Reid, Chris Farrell and Ricky Lane for entertaining everyone and special thanks to Geraldine for organising the tea.

JOE GETS GOOD NEWS FROM HIS MEDICAL TEAM AND LEARNS OF AN UNEXPECTED HONOUR !
Hi, we are very pleased to post this latest update on Joe following yesterday’s consultation with his medical team.
Great news, it has been confirmed that the extensive course of radiotherapy coupled with chemotherapy which Joe underwent recently appears to have been entirely successful. This is the best news Joe could have hoped for at this stage, he is feeling very relieved and now positively looking at recovery, getting fit and back to ‘JoeBusiness’ . He will meet with the head of his team, consultant Mr Akhtar, in January 2016 after being signed off from radiology yesterday.
We also have great pleasure in announcing that Joe has been awarded an Honorary Degree for ‘Services to the Educationally Underprivileged ‘ in recognition of his charity work here and in Nepal from The Open University, Joe is to become a Master of the University (MUniv). This is a very rare honour as it comes direct from the University Senate, given to people who merit special recognition for outstanding achievement and distinction in their lives.
Previous recipients include the late Nelson Mandela, Sir David Attenborough, John Cleese and Dame Judi Dench, to name just a few. Joe was thrilled and delighted to receive the news earlier this year and feels deeply honoured and humbled to have been selected. This award follows on from his MBE in 2012 and he will receive the honour at a special ceremony in London next September. Joe would like to thank everyone from the Open University for this citation.
You will all surely agree that 2016, the year of his 60th birthday has been a massive roller coaster ride … the heights of his birthday celebrations at the London Palladium plus the award of his Open University degree and then the fight once more with cancer but happily now ending on a high and bright note with the great news he received yesterday.
There’s only 3 weeks left to go in Joe’s 60th Birthday Celebration year and 3 more events. Firstly, there are 2 Christmas Afternoon High Teas with Joe in the sumptuous surroundings of the Louis Room at The Imperial Hotel Blackpool.
